Prunus grayana （Rosaceae Prunus）
Between April and May, after the leaves grow, small white flowers with 5 pedals starts to bloom into clusters. These clusters grow to 6 - 8 cm long and look like a glass brush.
The name of this plant in Kanji character means, “Top carving Sakura”. This is because this tree used to be used for a fortune telling by carving on the upper surface of the wood.
